Hi, I'm Marcel (@xitan) and since 2022 I'm working at G Data CyberDefense AG as a R&D engineer. These days I'm mainly interested in:

• Virtualization & Hypervisor Development
• x86 and Windows internals

Before I've worked as research assistant at da/sec (Biometrics & Security Research Group) while studying Computer Science at the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt. Our research focused on memory forensics and virtual machine introspection (e.g., my talk about our hypervisor-agnostic VMI framework).

I've started using Rust in 2017 and it quickly became the programming language of choice for me. Since then I've used Rust in every context I've previously used C++ for. This includes kernel drivers, an UEFI hypervisor and the hypervisor-agnostic virtual machine introspection framework I've built as a part of my master's thesis.
